Choir/Music Teacher Grades K-4 - immediate opening

The Christian School at Castle Hills, serving students 6 weeks through 12th grade, is a college preparatory school that is leading students to know Christ and make Christ known while developing tomorrow’s servant leaders today. We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated individual who will foster a love of music in our Kindergarten through 4th grade students while nurturing their spiritual and creative growth.

Mission: To lead students to know Christ and make Christ known. 

Position Overview: As the Choral Elementary Music Teacher, you will be responsible for leading our young students in music classes, teaching them healthy singing, steady beat, music theory, and other key music skills while also incorporating ORFF instruments. You will guide them in both individual and group performances, while integrating faith-based values into the learning process.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Music Education degree (or equivalent).
• Experience in ORFF and Kodály methodologies is highly preferred.
• A love for children and a genuine desire to work in a positive, energized environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
• A passion for teaching music that inspires and motivates young learners.
• A commitment to upholding and fostering the values of a Christian education.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and teach engaging music lessons to Kindergarten through 4th grade students.
• Lead and nurture students in choral singing, focusing on musical fundamentals, rhythm, melody, and harmony.
• Implement ORFF and Kodály approaches to music education to build a strong foundation in music literacy.
• Plan and execute student performances throughout the school year.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into the overall educational experience of students.
• Cultivate a warm, inviting, and positive classroom atmosphere where students feel encouraged to grow and try new things.
