Brownsville ISD is currently accepting applications for high school assistant choir director positions for Fall 2025. Brownsville ISD is located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, 30-45 minutes away from South Padre Island and Space X. The district has 10 middle schools (nine 2C and one 3C) and 6 high schools (four 5A and two 6A).

Most of our campuses have two director positions, and we have on-staff accompanists who join the teams 1-2 times/week. This means sharing the load and having extra ears for getting music learned and refined. BISD has an extended contract for choir directors, enabling directors to get paid for summer choir activities.

Brownsville ISD participates in the Teacher Incentive Allotment and fine arts teachers are included! We have several choir directors who have already been recognized. This can mean an extra $6K-$20K each year for 5+ years.
