Choir Director (6-8)

Gainesville ISD is seeking the next dynamic leader for our 6-8 choir program. We are a 4A district located 20 - 25 minutes North of Denton. Our community is supportive of Fine Arts!

Primary Purpose:



Direct and manage the vocal music and choral program as directed by the Director of Fine Arts and/or his designee, as well as the Campus Principal.

Qualifications: Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in the school choral program and society. 




Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas All Level Music certificate



Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of overall operation of vocal music program
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing choir

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Ability to interpret data

Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Bilingual skills preferred



Experience:

5 or more years of teaching experience is preferred but not required

3 years of successful UIL experience at minimum is preferred
