Executive Director, Pride Chorus Houston 

 Role: Executive Director 

Role Type: Salary 

Reports to: Board of Directors   

Purpose of Position: To manage and oversee all non-artistic operations to forward the mission of the organization. 

Time Commitment: 30+ hours/week. Flexible hours, some evenings and weekends are required for chorus events. 

Location: This role must be based in Houston. Flexible remote schedule, attendance at local events required. 

Salary: Base salary of $40,000 – $50,000, along with competitive incentive compensation based on fundraising performance. The bonus structure is designed to reward successful fundraising outcomes while aligning with the organization’s mission. 

 
Role Summary: 

The Executive Director leads all non-artistic operations of Pride Chorus Houston, advancing its mission through fundraising, marketing, financial stewardship, operations, and community engagement. Working closely with the Board and Artistic Director, this role ensures organizational sustainability, strong community presence, and exceptional experiences for members, patrons, and the community. 

 
Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Promote the Chorus’ focus on its mission
  2. Oversee marketing and public relations activities for the Chorus
  3. Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising program
  4. Develop, monitor,maintain fiscal responsibility standards for the Chorus 
  5. Direct and manage the Chorus’s operations, management, and administration
  6. Develop and execute the Chorus’s community outreach and education activities
  7. Support the Board in its oversight and governance functions

 Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, emphasis in nonprofit management preferred. 
  • Nonprofit management, development, and/or operations experience. 
  • Established community connections, especially in the LGBTQ+ community, and development track record. 
  • Interest in and commitment to embracing the mission of the Chorus. 
  • Ability to offer strong leadership skills as well as to balance work within a team setting. 
  • Flexibility in working with a diverse group of volunteers and personalities. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • An ability to work with Microsoft, Adobe, and other software used by the Chorus.
