Head Choral Director / Choir Instructor (Secondary)

Position Summary:
Aledo High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Head Choral Director to lead a growing secondary choral program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, a commitment to student engagement, and the ability to build a thriving, performance-based program.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach and direct multiple choir ensembles (beginning through advanced)
  • Develop students’ vocal technique, musicianship, and sight-reading skills
  • Prepare ensembles for concerts, University Interscholastic League (UIL) Concert & Sight-Reading, and other performances
  • Support student participation in Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region/All-State processes
  • Recruit and retain students to build and sustain program growth
  • Collaborate with middle school and elementary feeders (as applicable)
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field 
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (Music EC–12)
  • Strong background in choral pedagogy and rehearsal techniques
  • Knowledge of UIL and TMEA expectations preferred
