Jr. String Orchestra Conductor

The FWYO is seeking a conductor for the Jr. String Orchestra, a group comprised of Middle School string students below grade 8. This is a part-time position taking place on nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate is an in-service or recently retired orchestra director with extensive experience leading outstanding performances of this age group that is respected among peer directors in the DFW area.

Rehearsals will take place at FWYO's Orchestra Hall south of Fort Worth on Monday nights.

Responsibilities include leading Monday evening rehearsals throughout the school year (August to early May), repertoire selection, student audition selection (via submitted video), and 4-5 concerts a season (typically Sundays). FWYO handles most rehearsal logistics and any rehearsal sectional coaches/conductor absence subs.
